Description:
Our course is embedded in the castle park, which borders directly on the Rabensteiner forest. This extends over the Totenstein to Hohenstein ? Ernsttal, which makes extensive hikes in low-emission forest air possible. The location is quiet, there are no noisy traffic routes in the immediate vicinity, you can hear the wolves howling and, in good weather, the lions of the zoo roar.
In a distance of about 200m the reservoir invites you for a swim. In addition, the castle Rabenstein, the palace and the game preserve are in the immediate vicinity, where animals of our homeland can be observed in their natural environment. Within a radius of approx. 2km, the Chemnitz zoo and the Rabenstein rock domes are easily accessible on foot.
Even the city centre of Chemnitz can be reached quickly within a distance of about 10 km. If you still know our city from the past, you will be surprised how much has changed here, Chemnitz today, is worth seeing!
For trips and round trips the nearby Erzgebirge, the state capital Dresden (30min motorway), the Muldental, as well as the Altenburger Land are ideal.
You will find shopping facilities in our camping shop in the Rabensteincenter about 1km away and in the biggest shopping centre of Saxony, the Chemnitzcenter, about 4km away.
You can reach us via the A72, A4 exit Limbach / Rabenstein, by train Chemnitz main station / Bahnhof Siegmar
Our home town has a long and eventful history like hardly any other in our region, which is still evident today in the castle, palace and the caves of the Rabensteiner Felsendome. Nowadays the visitor can find a wide range of possibilities for recreation and leisure activities. Rabenstein offers its visitors one of the most beautiful campsites in the country. Embedded in the Rabensteiner forest landscape, you will find numerous sites for campers and permanent campers as well as accommodation in rustically furnished bungalows or tent huts.
The Oberrabenstein reservoir invites you to swim and enjoy a variety of events, such as the annual Splash Festival, Europe's largest Hip Hop & Reggae Festival. It is precisely because of this major event that our otherwise quiet Rabenstein has gained international fame. The festival is certainly the biggest (and by far the loudest) but only one of many events throughout the year to which the people of Rabenstein invite you.
For those who would rather enjoy the peace and quiet than the stomping hip hop sounds, the Rabensteiner Wald is to be recommended. This stretches over the Totenstein to Hohenstein ? Ernsttal, which makes extensive hikes in low-emission forest air possible.
The Rabensteiner Wald is also home to the game preserve, where indigenous animal species can be observed in spacious enclosures under near-natural conditions.
Just like the game gate, the Chemnitz Zoo can also be found in Rabenstein. Animals from all over the world can be admired in the spacious grounds at the Pelzmühle (a popular excursion restaurant in the south of Rabenstein).
Rabenstein is rich in beautiful and historic buildings, such as the old railway viaduct, the old sheep farm, our beautiful old school, and the St.? George ? Church. Nevertheless Rabenstein today is a district of Chemnitz, it has been able to preserve a lot of its own character, many jewels are maintained and preserved by dedicated guarantors.
So our place is always worth a visit!
