The Himmelspforte campsite is situated on a well-tended terrain that rises slightly from the Weser. Animated by hedges, trees and plantings, the site blends into the landscape. The entire pitches have a solid lawn and are partly bordered by plantings which offer a popular protection against sun and wind. Each plot is of sufficient size and is marked in its location. All paths on the site are surfaced and the main paths are asphalted. At dusk, lamps along all paths provide good lighting. For each plot there is a 230-volt power connection with meter in the immediate vicinity. Water taps are available near the pitches and in the sanitary buildings: Horseback riding (next to the campsite), tennis (next to the campsite), museum (in the village), indoor swimming pool (approx. 1km), bicycle paths (directly at the campsite), spa facilities (in the village), bicycle rental (directly at the campsite). In the summer half year the restaurant and the shop is opened daily from 8.00 o'clock. In the winter months, the restaurant is only open on weekends, Friday to Sunday. In the campsite there is a beer garden which is very popular with our guests. During the summer months, the shop offers fresh bread rolls daily and for the children there is a well laid out playground with a sandbox, swings, seesaws, climbing frames etc. For the young and the young at heart, there is a recreation room with table tennis, foosball and space to pass the time with other games. The buildings are open all year round, have heating and an efficient hot water supply, for all washbasins, showers, wash cabins and sink facilities. All rooms are tiled. To make your stay easier, the campsite has a utility room with washing machine, sink and ironing facilities. All use of this facility is included in the campsite fees, except for the use of showers and washing machines.
Surrounded by Hopfenberg, Eckberg and the Vogler Nature Park on the beautiful Weser River, lies the MĂŒnchhausen town of Bodenwerder. Only 1.5 km away from the city centre, directly on the Weser, is the campsite "Himmelspforte", which owes its name to the old name of the Weser boatmen from the time when there were no river km. Opposite the camping site on the left bank of the Weser river is the Hopfenberg with its rocky outcrops. Its beautiful forest, which adapts its face to every season, forms a picturesque backdrop. To the south and east the campsite is surrounded by meadows and fields.
Only a few individual farms are located in the middle of this wonderfully peaceful landscape. In 15 - 20 min you can reach the nature park Vogler with its mixed forest, well-kept hiking trails, wonderful view points and beautiful resting places on asphalt roads. The entire Upper Weser from Hameln to Hann. MĂŒnden can be navigated by pleasure boats without locks. The camping site itself has fixed landing stages with good entry and exit possibilities. The slipway is suitable for almost all sport boats on car trailers.
In order to store your boat safely and dryly, there are two large boat sheds available for our guests. For water ski lovers there is a Weser course near the campsite.
